There is a program called SRVANY in the Windows NT Resource Kit that
allows ANY executable to be used as a Windows NT service. Favourites for
this are things like custom HTTP servers and similiar, that need to run
all the time but for which properly server-ised versions aren't
necessarily available.

Should make no difference. They are bit-for-bit identical, barring two
registry entries. :)

Ctrl-Alt-Del can currently be sent to the WinVNC server without too much
difficulty, at least from Unix. However, this doesn't help, because
Ctrl-Alt-Del is a special key combination that cannot be synthesised
properly by WinVNC at the local end, so it can't be used to logon, or lock
the workstation.

I hope that makes some sense. NT can in places seem rather arcane at
times!
