For a dedicated thin client I'd pick FreeDOS, something like WATTCP for
the protocol tcp layer (its crap but it works). WATTCP also runs over the
Crynwr packet drivers which means just about any ethernet card (especially
the 8bit prehistory found in XT's) is covered.

Last time I looked the Pison3 didnt have a TCP/IP stack and the Pison5 you
needed to pay a fortune for SDK's. Has anyone simply tried rebuilding the
win32 client on WIN/CE ?

The other obvious one is the palmpilot, well documented, gcc available fore
it and good simulators. Bigger pilots have TCP/IP and PPP.
